Some of the responses we have had from the book and training........

  • Thank you very much for the wonderful training day which you led here yesterday. Everyone has mentioned how beneficial it was and the wonderful weather made it perfect. I will definitely be recommending your training to other schools. R. Drewett, Icknield Special School

  • We had a great day thank you - everyone enjoyed it both as inspiration for outdor learning and by default something of a team-building day as well. I will certainly recomend you to colleagues at other schools. K Dixon Manor Primary School, Ivybridge.
  • I would like to thank you for the fantastic outdoor learning inset day that you provided for our school. All staff members are still talking about it, and how much they enjoyed the fun packed day. We have been able to use the resources and ideas that you provided with all of our SEN pupils, (PMLD and ASD). Having a whole school inset for 114 staff was a task in itself but it ran very smoothly and worked well as team building exercise as well as outdoor learning. I’m sure that we will be in touch in the future to extend our knowledge on outdoor learning and be able to provide more experiences for our pupils. Once again thank you for valuable knowledge and keeping us all on task during the day. Sallyann Davis (TLR, Ty Gwyn SEN School)

  • Just wanted to say a very big thank you from all of us at The Mead for a brilliant
day today. We had such fun, learnt loads and feel totally enthused in our approach
to outdoor learning. You were great to spend the day with and made it interesting
and yes we do all feel we can do it! So mission accomplished! I've had great feed
back from the staff and we will all definitely recommend you to other schools.
  • Hi Tracey, I'm halfway through my training as a Level 3 Forest School Leader and loving it. Just about to start my 6 week pilot programme and bought your book for inspiration. My sessions will be with yr 7, 8 and 9 students who are very vulnerable. I have found your book a godsend for inspiration, reassurance and just making me feel equipped to motivate and engage my students should the need arise. I will be recommending it highly to all my friends and colleagues and just wanted to tell you that I'm so happy you wrote it! And that I have a copy of it!! All the very best. Mandi Hann

  •  Thanks again for last Friday, we all has a superb day. Not only was it great fun but we all came away buzzing with ideas to take back, or should I say 'out', of the classroom.
Teachers and support staff alike, have benefited from the day and we are particularly looking forward to using the birds and animal sets, making puppets and creating poetree!
The activities were fun to do and we could easily see how they can be adapted across the curriculum and for all age groups, which is just what we needed.
We feel sure we can now make effective use of our wonderful woodland area thanks to your book and the days activities. Nikki Barker Head Teacher, Linthwaite Clough, Huddersfield
  • We had a fantastic day with you on Thursday. Everyone loved the activities and it was so inclusive with all staff feeling so valued. The staff were so enthusiastic about the day, several of them spent the weekend cutting up sheets, collecting twigs and planning lessons for this week. Yesterday Primary 4 were out in the playground with a huge pile of twigs having such fun. I’m sure we will be using the ideas and resources, which were instantly downloaded, laminated and put in a special folder, for years to come. Thank you so much for a wonderful day. Carolyn Ritchie, Head Teacher, Strathpeffer

  • Thank you for a fantastic day. A great time was had by all.  I’ve attached a copy of the article which will go onto the GoGlasgow intranet.  This is a news blog which is shared across all educational establishments within Glasgow Education Authority. We’ll certainly be recommending you to others. Lesley Ann D'Arcy, Glasgow
  • I have had excellent feedback from all the staff. Thank you for a
wonderful day. We are busy planning our outdoors and you have truly inspired the
staff with your lovely activities.  I will definitely be recommending you to others, Shamim Ashraf

  • Hi Tracey, thank you very much for our fantastic INSET day at the end of may. The staff
feedback was really, really positive. A couple said that it was the best CPD they
    had had!! I will definitely
recommend you to other schools. Nicola Sherry

  • I was lucky enough to win a copy of this book and  have been dipping in and out of it more than any other that I bought. It contains many ideas to assist in the planning of forest school activities including fun games, craft activities, cooking activities and challenges.  The activities I have trialled so far have been successful and the children loved them! A valuable resource! Sara Oldham

  • Hi Tracey just wanted to say a huge thank you for Friday, Kids thoroughly enjoyed all the activities and I definately learnt alot. Louise
  • Hi Tracey, We had a fabulous day despite the horrid weather.  In fact the weather probably made many people realise that it doesn't really matter if it rains and children certainly don't mind it. Everyone is keen to try out some of your ideas with their children, with the squirrel assault course being a particular favourite. Thank you for a memorable day.  I will certainly recommend you to anyone I speak to.  Kind Regards Carole

  • Your book has just arrived and Ive had a quick look and it looks great. This is my holiday reading ready for next term! RJ

  • Probably the best inset day I have ever done, I've learnt so much and cant wait to try it all out on my class MG

  • The mathematical border made from leaves and twigs with symmetry, rotation fractions etc is all down to you Tracey, thank you very much. KC

  • What a fantastic day! Tracey’s enthusiasm for outdoor learning was contagious. We have already begun to use her fabulous ideas. CM

  • I received your book a little while ago, and it has already been a fab resource for use inside and outside of the classroom. I've used it lots on our transition days too.
It's very useful that the activities are all in one place and that they link to the 'learning objectives too'.
    With thanks, VB

  • The ‘Outdoor Learning’ day was a really enjoyable and informative day, where I for one, as an NQT, learnt many different skills which I have never thought about using in school before. Tracey made a fantastic coach, guiding us through the various activities with confidence and with a ‘teacher’s hat’ on. She gave us the opportunity to sample many different outdoor tasks – some very simple, and others more complex. We were also given the opportunity to select activities which interested us and briefly discuss others which were less relevant, in order to gain the most of the experience. The resource pack handed to us via USB will definitely be of use to us in the future and the plans can easily be adapted to suit the requirements and needs of our class. Overall, the day was extremely worthwhile and I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Tracey to other schools and childcare centres. -TC – NQT

  • It was a very interesting and informative day! I enjoyed learning from the perspective of a child, especially making a fire! I will be integrating the activities within my own class wherever possible. Thank you. -BW

  • A really enjoyable practical day,  All the activities were possible using our school grounds and minimal resources. Also all could be done with a whole class of children. It was therefore very realistic. I gained many new ideas that I hope I get the opportunity to use in the future. -KH

  • Tracy is a very professional, dedicated and passionate Forest school practitioner and teacher whom has contributed enormously to the outdoor education community and created many invaluable outdoor learning experiences for some very lucky children.

  • Thankyou Tracey for sharing your skills and ideas through your wonderful book, an inspiration!!!  - Pip

  • Thank you for sending me your excellent book so quickly.  I can see that it is going to provide me with some fun new ideas and I will feed back if I get the time!  There are some interesting variations on the old favourites.  I hope that they are selling like hotcakes! Hope to meet you one day. - Louise

  • Hi Tracey. The book has arrived and we are so impressed with it we would like to order another 7 copies please. - Dawn

Feedback from training courses:

Tracey was the course leader for my Forest School leader's course. She has a vast knowledge of teaching Forest school skills and was responsible for presenting and applying very enjoyable eight week practical sessions. Her manner of teaching is easy and humourous, making for a relaxed atmosphere - Heather

Tracey was inspirational regarding her knowledge and creativity when delivering the Level 3 Forest School programme. I enjoyed every aspect of the course and it had an impact on my personal practice which transformed the experiences our children's centre now offers to our families. We have created a 'Forest School' area in our outdoor space which provides the opportunity for children to learn through, explore and experience nature. Thank you Tracey. - Vikki

Tracey has a wealth of experience and knowledge in child development and Forest Schools. Tracey's teaching style is professional whilst being fun and relaxed.  I would love to syphon off some of Tracey's knowledge! - Rachael

She is super easy to get on with, professional and I would go on her course all over again 100 times! -Olinda
